An exploration of the possibilities in an unconventional combination of materials: coupling a veneer layer that expands and contracts under changes in humidity to a synthetic layer that does not respond. This coupling creates a sheet capable of reversible self-motion under cycles of humidity and dryness.
Integrating a technique from the field of paper folding known as curvigami, folding along curves, enriches the variety of forms and movements.
In an era when it seems we are losing our ability to pause, linger, and observe, these objects invite viewers to take a momentary break from the race. Can we still pause?
פרויקט החוקר את האפשרויות הגלומות בשילוב חומרי לא שגרתי: צימוד שכבת פורניר המתרחבת ומתכווצת תחת שינויי לחות לשכבה סינתטית שאינה מגיבה. הצימוד יוצר יריעה בעלת תנועה-עצמית, שהיא הפיכה תחת מחזורים של לחות ויובש. שילוב טכניקה מתחום קיפולי הנייר המכונה curvigami, קיפול לאורך עקומות, מעשיר את המגוון הצורני והתנועתי.
בעידן בו נדמה שאנו מאבדים את היכולת לעצור, להשתהות ולהתבונן, האובייקטים מזמינים את המתבונן לכמה רגעים של הפוגה מהמרוץ. האם אנחנו עדיין יכולים לעצור?

From futurism, which worshipped speed and flirted with fascism, through capitalism that demands endless consumption, to the information explosion of the internet and social media urging us to scroll endlessly—it appears we are losing our capacity to pause, linger, and observe.
Philosopher Byung-Chul Han argues that the ability to pause, embracing boredom, enables and is even essential for fostering deep observation, expansive thinking, and creative idea development. He writes that our lifestyle, characterized by rapid and abrupt shifts between diverse topics, does not signify progress but regression.
In the works presented here, objects that appear simultaneously geometric and botanical engage in a slow dance of self-movement, driven by changes in ambient humidity, inviting viewers to pause briefly from life's relentless pace. These reversible, cyclical shape changes echo nature’s rhythms—tides rising and falling, day and night, summer and winter, rainy and drought years, warm periods and ice ages.
Real-time versus accelerated time, natural versus artificial, random versus designed, scientific versus poetic—these objects embody the tensions within which we live, inviting us to stop, look, and truly pay attention.

ועד להתפוצצות המידע באינטרנט וברשתות החברתיות הדורשות מאיתנו לגלול עד בלי די,
דומה שאנו מאבדים את היכולת לעצור, להשתהות ולהתבונן.
הפילוסוף ביונג-צ׳ול האן (Byung-Chul Han) טוען שהיכולת להשתהות, תוך הכלת השעמום,
מאפשרת ואף הכרחית ליצירת תהליכים של התבוננות עמוקה, חשיבה רחבה ופיתוח רעיונות יצירתיים.
הוא כותב שאורח חיינו המאופיין במעבר מהיר וחד בין נושאים שונים, אינו מבטא קידמה, אלא רגרסיה.

גאות ושפל, יום ולילה, קיץ וחורף, שנים גשומות ושנות בצורת, עידן חום ועידן קרח.

ומבקשים שנעצור ונפנה אליהם את מבטנו ותשומת ליבנו.
